The FishDee 24 event was once again a great success with over £22k raised so far, with 7 salmon and 9 sea trout caught. The event took place over 12 beats with 33 participants spread over 11 teams entered from across the county fishing for 24 hours from Friday evening through the night until Saturday evening.
Anglers were primed with some opening remarks from Robson Green and Jim Murray on the Friday evening before setting out in some challenging conditions. Despite this probably double the number of salmon and sea trout were hooked as were landed, both Jim Murray and Robson had salmon, which were caught on film for their upcoming TV series on ITV to be aired in the Autumn. Half of the beats involved in FishDee24 landed fish (sea trout or salmon) with many more seen during the event. I think it’s fair to say that participants had a great time, even if they were exhausted afterwards, thank you to each of you.

Some of the accolades go to; Hedge Shand for Best Individual Fundraiser, Yorkshire lads’ team ‘Third Time Lucky’ were the Best Fundraising Team, Matt Will for Best Overall Score with 3 salmon and a sea trout across 3 beats, Tara Speirs received the Endurance award, first fish fell to Andrew Barrowman and last fish to Robson Green.
Video footage from the event can be found here.
