Twelve beats along its eight mile length, a dedicated ghillie and Skeabost House Hotel, a Skye mansion set on the shoreline of Loch Snizort. The river Snizort is a fishing destination with a difference.
Skye’s longest river, Snizort, attracts anglers from afar, fishing its waters for salmon and sea trout amongst some of the most stunning scenery in Scotland.
The river originates in the hills of east Bracadale and flows eight miles into the sea within the grounds of Skeabost House Hotel. For anglers, the river offers a diverse range of fly fishing opportunities from a sea pool to long gliding corners in its middle section, and rocky pools in gorges on the upper section.
Beats one and two are within the grounds of Skeabost House Hotel and include the sea pool. Beats three to seven are known locally as “the flats” and have some of the best holding pools for the fly. Located a short drive from the hotel they receive the most angling effort during the season.

As you move on up to the upper stretches the character of the river changes where the river is formed from fast running rocky pools and streamy glides and ideal for the more adventurous and experienced angler. Beats eight to twelve.
