Built originally as part of the Atholl Estate some 350 years ago, East Haugh House is a beautiful turreted stone house situated just a mile south of Pitlochry, off the old A9 road, and set in 2 acres of gardens.

Having bought the house in 1989, Lesley & Neil McGown converted it to a very personally run country sporting hotel, retaining many of the interesting features of the house. The hotel features 12 individually designed bedrooms, all named after Salmon fishing flies, as well as a lovely private Victorian Gate Lodge which can be taken on a self-catering or DBB basis.

Situated in the heart of the picturesque Highlands, a sportsman’s paradise, the local area offers many superb 18 hole golf courses, ancient castles, distilleries, excellent hill walking, pony trekking and much more for your holiday/vacation in the Scottish Highlands.

Located just a mile from the banks of the river Tummel, which produces some wonderful plays every year, East Haugh can arrange absolutely everything you require including delicious packed lunches, tackle/wader hire and expert tuition. The McGown’s own life-long passion for fishing enables them to offer a very personal service to their guests, many of whom return year after year to experience the warm welcome and hospitality at the very highest of standards.


East Haugh House is hailed as one of Scotland’s hidden gems with many guests describing the food as the ‘best in Scotland’. East Haugh has two areas for lunch or dinner either in the ‘Two Sisters’ restaurant or cosy Fisherman’s Bar. As well as an extensive a la carte menu, they offer a daily specials menu for both the restaurant & bar. When in season, plenty of local game such as grouse, pheasant and venison will be on the menu.
The award-winning Head Chef and Proprietor, Neil McGown, leads a team of talented chefs who have a real passion for producing the most delicious food. All ingredients are locally sourced where possible and everything is freshly cooked to order.
