Wilderness Fishing

Nov 11, 2022 | Featured, Locations, Travel

The world seems to be getting smaller as we can now jet off fishing to destinations across the globe with relative ease. One place that has become increasingly popular is Canada and British Columbia on the west coast, where breath taking scenery and outstanding fishing takes the angler on an adventure of a lifetime.

When visiting these beautiful and sometimes remote locations you need to take the best rods and lines with you as there are not many stores for replacements in the wilderness!

I myself have travelled many times to BC in search of steelhead and salmonoids and a result of these and other trips we created a range of six-piece rods called Mackenzie Atlas.

The rods are light, responsive, reliable, and reduce to six pieces so fit easily within your normal suitcase. Ideal for the modern-day global angler

Having a rod that fits in your suitcase is also a game changer!

Unfortunately, airlines have a habit off losing long rod tubes. We’ve all heard horror stories of anglers arriving at a destination only to find their rod tube containing all their rods didn’t make it onto the plane. Not the start you want on a wilderness adventure. Life is too short for a long rod tube!

Mackenzie rods has two Atlas ranges. The first is our award winning FX1 GRAPHENE rods which are the first in the world to be made using Graphene, the lightest, strongest material known to man. The result a light, responsive and potentially the strongest rod ever made, exactly what you need when fishing off grid.

Our other range is the NX1 Atlas rods made using nano technology. This again makes them like the FX1 rods very light, strong and reliable within an unforgiving wilderness environment.

The Mackenzie brand has been built by working with some of the best guides in the world. In BC we are fortunate to have some of the very best in the business working on our team. These guides put the Mackenzie Atlas range through its paces on a daily basis in BC, out in the wilderness.
