Since its inception in the early 2000s, the RSAA has been working to introduce young and not so young people to the sport of angling. The young are the life blood of our sport, and with the majority of anglers in the fifty plus bracket, it is vitally important that we do all we can encourage uptake.
The RSAA, through its Committee and volunteer coaches, organizes a number of events each year encompassing fly fishing for stillwater and river trout and salmon. These have been very successful in recent years, and many youngsters have become competent anglers in their own right as a result. We also encourage anglers to tie their own flies and we organize a very well attended Fly Tying Fair each year, as well as providing tuition in fly tying skills.
In addition to the above, we believe the voice of those who fish the River Spey should be represented and the RSAA was established for that purpose. As such, the RSAA provides a forum for discussing issues of interest to anglers, for example, Salmon Farming and the Atlantic Salmon Trust`s Missing Salmon Project have featured recently. We do hope you will be able to support us by taking out a membership with the RSAA to support our activities.
Membership fees are critical for the continuation of our voluntary work on your behalf and we do hope you will take this opportunity to complete and return the attached form. Membership fees for 2021 are £20 for an individual member and £28 for joint membership. Juniors, under 16, are free, but still need to register by completing a membership form.
These should be sent to RSAA Treasurer, Peter Austin – Glendale, Bank of Roseisle, Elgin, IV30 5YD. Tel: 01343 835531 or 07798 661552 or email email@example.com
