Lockdown Fly Tying Competition

We know one activity which is sure to be on the upswing during the lockdown: fly tying.
What else do we have got to do?

So, for a bit of fun we have created a fly-tying competition for you to get your teeth into. The competition will run from today until 13th April 2020 to include the initial lockdown period.

The competition is open to everyone. We have two categories- salmon/seatrout flies and trout flies. These can be your original patterns; they can be examples of well-known favourites or variants of the same. It’s up to you, so express yourself.

We have a panel of judges who will be sent the photos and no other information about the entrants. Marks will be awarded out of ten based on the quality of the tying and how ‘fishy’ they look. The highest score wins. The marks will be sent back to FishPal and we will announce the winners.

How to Enter
To enter, simply Direct Message (DM) a photo of your fly and your name etc to the FishPal Facebook page.

Best Salmon Fly- Loop tube fly box. Caledonia Flies. FishPal voucher worth £50
Best Trout Fly- Loop dry fly box. Caledonia Flies. FishPal voucher worth £50

We will then publish all the photos on FishPal Facebook and the one with the most likes will receive a year subscription to Fishing TV.

Happy tying! We look forward to seeing what you come up with.

A big thank you to Loop, Caledonia Flies, FishPal and Fishing TV for getting involved
