Dean Bradley 27th March on Newbie Beat.
March was a difficult month for many of the Southern Scottish rivers, due to storms. However when the weather patterns settled there was an opportunity of a fish.
Towards the end of the month the Annan enjoyed 9 consecutive days of fish caught every day. Fresh off the tide multi sea wintered fish, bars of silver.
The smallest was 12lbs with the largest potentially up to 22lbs. Two fish of 18 lbs and 20 lbs. Anglers fishing Newbie beat caught 9 and lost a further 2.
Which is good news that the river still offers an angler a chance of a spring salmon.
This river offers some great fishing at fantastic value, not only for salmon but wild brown trout, sea trout and grayling.
Prices for a days salmon fishing start from £10.
