Salmon fishing in Iceland is sooo expensive – Well not in all cases…

Sog river is the largest spring fed river in Iceland and is renowned for its amazing bird-life, beautiful surroundings and high percentage of multi-sea-winter salmon. Also, Sog has a very good stock of Arctic char and every year char of size 5-7 pounds are caught.
Sog river is all private water and has six salmon beats and a total of 13 rods. The salmon season is from June 24 until September 24. The Sog Bildfell beat has been the most productive beat on Sog and frequently produces the heaviest salmon each year, meaning salmon of 20 pounds or bigger. The name of the other beats are Asgardur(3), Alvidra(3), Sydri-Bru(1), Tannastadir(2) and Thrastarlundur(1).
Accommodation on the Sog Bildsfell Beat is provided in a very comfortable self catering lodge beside the river. The lodge has a very well equipped kitchen for cooking, 4 twin-bedded bedrooms, WCs & showers, dining and sitting room. Also, the lodge has a seperate storage room for your waders and fishing clothing.

Fishing offer for 2019: Three days of salmon fishing on Sog Bildsfell Beat and three nights accommodation in the Sog fishing lodge with bed-linen & towels, on a single occupancy basis for a total price of £888 or EUR 999 or US$ 1,100. The fishing starts at 4pm on your first day and ends at noon on your last day of fishing.
Sog river is surrounded with photoscenic areas and the most popular tourist attractions in the south of Iceland such as the volcano Mt. Hekla, lovely lava fields, Glacier Langjokull, the famous geothermal area of Geysir, the waterfall Gullfoss and the National Park at Thingvellir. It is well worth to spend a few days extra to explore these beautiful attractions.

I can arrange hotel/guesthouse accommodation before/after your fishing, if you like. I will meet and greet you on arrival in Iceland, transport you to your accommodation in Reykjavik and get you settled in properly.
