Fishing On the Isle of Islay

May 14, 2018 | Where To Fish

DSC_0716The Isle of Islay (the whisky Island) offer the adventurer some great distilleries to visit, Bowmore, Laphroaig, etc, but the Island offers some excellent sport.
Whilst visiting last week, there are a couple of small “trout like” rivers that have salmon runs and also some exceptional seatrout fishing in the bay at Bowmore.

The rivers Laggan and Sorn offer fishing, late July onwards are normally the best months and are open to day tickets.  However these are traditional “spate” rivers and booking closer to the time might be best.
