Last chance to put in nominations for Lantra’s learner of the year awards
Lantra Scotland, the sector skills council for land-based, aquaculture and environmental conservation industries, is asking employers, colleges, teachers and trainers to put nominations in for its Land-based and Aquaculture Learner of the Year Awards before the closing date of 10th November.
Kevin Patrick, Director of Lantra Scotland, said:
“Judges on our independent panel take their role very seriously and so want to ensure that they have enough time put aside to look at all the award entries carefully. Our awards ceremony is in March 2018, and so we need the nominations in November for shortlisting.
Being nominated for an award is a great achievement and provides learners with confidence and self-belief, even if they don’t go on to get an award. Finalists and winners on the night get even more from it, and we are always delighted to see what effect there is on the development of up-and-coming talent in the land-based and aquaculture industries. The individual personalities and stories that come out are very impressive, and we’re really looking forward to seeing this year’s crop of talent.”
Lantra relies on help from across the sector to run the awards, and there are still opportunities to get involved in providing support.
