On the Upper Mourne there were a total of 15 fish landed in the month of June with several more lost. Three of the largest in size were between 11-14lbs.
A very good number of fish have been showing in most pools during the month. Water levels remained low for most of the month except for the second weekend when levels were very high due to heavy rainfall the previous couple of days.
15 fish were caught between Friday 30th and Sunday 2nd July, one lucky angler landed 4 to his rod on Saturday. The two largest fish were around 11lbs to J. Irvine in Doaks using a Bann Special, and J Hamilton Stubber in the Snaa using a Park Shrimp conehead. Fish size ranged from small grilse 2.5lbs through to 11lbs.
Early this week has seen little fishing due to rain and coloured water. When the Mourne clears good catches should be expected. Derg water is running clear.

- Just wanted to share this magnificent fish from the Teviot caught on 18/10/2018 on a yellow Monkey bottle tube. Craig was using his 10ft trout rod as he was on the upper river and with the conditions being as they were he really didn't fancy his chances of catching any fish. He didn't weigh it as I wanted to get it back asap but it was around 42-46" in length. Craig said "Tweed ghillie friend guestimates it around the 26lb mark. But who cares" #fishpal #fishing #flyfishing #salmon #scotland #visitscotland #scottishborders3 days fishing 7 fish caught, lost another 7 and 3 at 24lb 27lb and 30lbs Birgham Dub, River Tweed. Rivers Tungufljot, Vatnsa, Geirlandsa, Grenlaekur, Varma, Litlaa, Brunna, Eyjafjardara and many more rivers in Iceland offer crystal clear water and fantastic sea trout fishing. The sea trout fishing normally starts in late August and continues into early October although I would recommend fishing during September month. All the fishing is done on private water with 2-6 rods allowed to fish at the same time. You are fishing daily for 10-12 hours and sometimes you will enjoy the northern lights while fishing into the darkness. Pricing is very reasonable and will cost from £150 per rod/day without any lodge accommodation involved . . Jon Sigurdsson . 🌐 www.fishiceland.com . Ⓜ️firstname.lastname@example.org . This would put it at 43-45lbs in weight. As it was windy I had put up the 14 Sage. It was on a size 12 Stoats Tail fished slowly over the lies about half way down the pool.
