Unfortunately, the Nith night at Dalswinton was cancelled due to high and dirty water, but it will go ahead later in the month so keep an eye open for further news.
Border Esk – Ryan Campbell caught his first ever salmon on Friday Night/Saturday 1am. 4lb grilse, Fishing on the Dub on the Cannonbie beat of the Border Esk.
A further two seatrout were caught and more lost.
FishPal’s Tom Carter says “I lost a cracker of a seatrout on a 7/8 weight rod, approx 5lb in weight, whilst fishing the Irvine Lower beat. It ran about 50 yards in a few seconds and then I was broken as the fish got tucked behind a rock and chopped the leader, Gutted!!”
Club Members on the night to host were Iain Blackett, and Stuart Campbell and others as well. Many thanks to Iain whose knowledge of the river and gifting of flies and tackle was very kind, and of great help!! Whiteadder – There was more evening action on the Whiteadder from Berwick Angling Association. Andrew Lee and Bluestone beat had anglers who fished into the night and whilst no sea trout were landed a few specimen brownies were caught.
Annan – The Annan has some good sport at Hoddam on Friday night, They fished into the morning on Saturday, A further report is on it’s way.
Teviot – Charlie Brownlee had a group out on the Jedburgh Angling Association water and had a fine night after initially having feared the wind and rain would put a damper on the evening. However just in time, the wind dropped and the rain dried up and a fine night was had by all.
