For Sale 1 rod week’s ownership in February (Week 1 starts 11th) of Craigellachie Fishings, arguably the most scenic Salmon fishing beat on the River Spey. The past two or three years have shown a marked increase in the early part of the year catches.
Craigellachie lies at the lower end of beautiful Strathspey. The village itself is some 400 feet above sea level and is surrounded by hills and woodland of stunning beauty overlooking the River Spey. The River at this point is 17 miles from the sea and
25 miles from Grantown on Spey. The historic 1814 Telford Bridge provides a magnificent backdrop for those fishing the Bridge Pool.
The fishings extend to approximately 2 1⁄2 miles. There are 2 beats, each of which is fished every day with changeover at 1pm. Each beat fishes 4 rods and each has a well appointed fishing hut complete with flushing toilet and ample parking area. The fishings are now managed by three elected rod owners and include the services of an experienced Ghillie and use of a boat.
There are 15 named pools, marked on the beat map attached. The current annual maintenance charge is £110 pa per rod.
The huts are shown on the Beat Map.
