Chris Clemes Fly Rod and Reel Makers Competition

Mar 16, 2012 | Tackle Box

In the workshops of Chris Clemes over 150 years of rod and reel making experience is put into practice every day. From the hand turning of classic reels to the fine tapers on the split canes,  English craftsmen take pride in each component which they produce. This combination of attention to detail and classic styling is the objective of even the most subtle innovations. ‘To create England’s finest Fly Rods and Reels’

Each of our Rod and Reel numbers is the pinnacle of our craft and built using the finest materials available. Whether commissioning a custom split cane rod or our graphite 15’ No10 spey, you will take comfort in the knowledge that you have in your hands not only an object of beauty to be enjoyed in its own right, but a fine product of the rod makers craft giving you the utmost in reliability and performance. We are proud to offer our unique Inheritable Lifetime Warranty on workmanship for each of the numbers which leave our workshops.

Our 13’6 No9 and 15’ No10 Spey rods have been developed in collaboration with professional guides on Canada’s Restigouche River and Russia’s Atlantic Salmon Reserve. They are the first Charles Clemes numbers which are available in two actions to suit the professional or weekend fisherman. Built on our strongest high carbon blanks and fitted with solid Titanium reel seats these rods will withstand the harshest big river conditions.

The 4 piece rods feature a Double Handed grip made of premium grade cork, two Fuji Titanium SiC non-tangle stripping guides and REC Recoil Nickel Titanium snake guides. The rich olive colour of the blank is complemented with maroon thread and 3 coats of varnish to give an elegant and durable finish. Each rod comes complete with an aluminium rod tube and Selvyt fabric rod and tube bags.

To see the full range of our rods, reels and accessories visit our website  or make an appointment at the Anderson Wheeler store located in Mayfair, London to discuss split cane commissions or cast our fly rods.
