Jubilee Lakes Fishery, the Anglers’ Lodge

Feb 23, 2012 | Uncategorized

Started in 1993 on Jubilee Lakes Fishery the Anglers’ Lodge has become one of the largest & best stocked tackle shops in England. It was stocked initially for the anglers on their still water fishery – but local river anglers demanded attention, and now, more than twenty years on, the greater emphasis in the shop is definitely on salmon and seatrout fishing.

They are ideally situated in between the Tees and Wear and with the Tyne only 30 miles north of them. Just off the A68 as you come north from Darlington, (or from A1M Junction 58). They are approximately half way between Darlington and West Auckland. Look for the brown tourist signs for Jubilee Lakes. They have plenty of car parking and the shop is open 9.00 to 3.45p.m. Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday – late night Friday.

Anglers’ Lodge stock an excellent range of fly fishing & spinning rods from quality suppliers. Anglers can try rods on their lake before parting with their hard earned cash – not quite as good as trying them on the river – but a better option than buying a rod you find you don’t like.

They also specialise in waders and wherever possible encourage anglers to come to the shop to try them – bit like the undertaker – they size you up! Bring whatever clothing you are likely to wear and if you already have wader boots bring them along too. For mail order customers simply email measurements of your existing waders or give them your waist & chest size, (over your fishing clothes), plus crotch to floor length and normal shoe size. They will do their very best to get you a good fit.

If you are looking for a new wading jacket – visit Anglers’ Lodge first – they have a good selection in their clothing department.

Anglers’ Lodge stock an enormous range of materials for the fly tyer including Frodin, Eumer, Veniard, Wapsi, Partridge, Foxy-Tails, Bug-Bond, Lazer/ Lumi Lights & more. Plus an extensive range of Salmon Flies from Fulling Mill – not to mention Shrimps, Tobies etc.

So, if you fish the river – you know where to come!

All their stock is listed on their website at www.anglers-lodge.co.uk. They dispatch worldwide six days a week and are renowned for excellent customer service and support. Their policy is, as far as possible, only to list stock on the website which they can dispatch same day and whenever possible for next day delivery.
