Scottish Fishing Hotel of the Year

Feb 25, 2011 | Uncategorized

East Haugh Hotel, has been a Sporting Hotel for the past 23 years on the River Tay and has won Scottish Fishing Hotel for the last 2 years.

Lesley McGown says ‘I think its our own passion for fishing that makes East Haugh Hotel perfect for anglers – both my
husband (who is also the hotel’s chef) and I are passionate fishing people and now our daughter who is the hotel manager, has the fishing bug (and catches bigger fish than us!!)  Since taking on our own beat on the Tay at Dalmarnock, as a family run fishing hotel with water it is imperative we offer everything the angler wants to make their holiday perfect’. Dalmarnock is one of the largest beats on the Tay, almost 3 miles, double bank and is situated about three miles downstream from the confluence of the Tay and Tummel. Tay ghillie Colin McFadgen, lives breathes and sleeps fishing !! Coupled with a superb, very well equipped fishing hut offering everything the angler requires.

Flexibility is imperative! Early breakfasts offer flexibility and late dinners if anglers wish to fish on. Secure storage of anglers fishing tackle – hire of tackle if needed, good selection of flies and lures and somewhere to hand wet clothing.

At the end of the day and a warm and inviting bar with someone there who is interested in fishing. Comfortable, affordable accommodation and excellent food is also our forte as you can see by our awards! So East Haugh Hotel is real family affair!
